Sophie Hennes

Sophie has over 12 years of experience in Construction, Power and Transport industries. She began herĀ career as a Carbon Capture and Storage engineer at Alstom and has since the first day advocated for an integrated approach of sustainability principles into the business. She became head of CSR & Sustainability and in 2010, after a dedicated initiative to define and set Alstom Power sustainability strategy and objectives, the company entered the DJSI for the first time. Most recently she joined the Transport branch and was their CSR & Sustainability manager for the Asia Pacific region.

In 2018, she founded Ataraxis GmbH. Her aim is to ensure the longevity of organisations by enabling opportunities and solutions to environmental and social challenges such as climate change, diversity, ethics, governance and more.

French native, Sophie has a Master degree in Environment from University Paris VI and a Master of Sciences in Sustainability management from HEC business school. In 2016 she was voted young talent of the year by her fellow HEC alumni. In 2018 she graduated from the International Company Directors Course -a flagship program of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

She is an avid traveler, a skierĀ (winner of 2012-2013 FIS Masters Cup), a scuba diver (advanced) who is repeatedly awed by the nature and the people around our planet and who genuinely wants to protect this fragile ecosystem. She has been living and working in Australia, France, Sweden and Switzerland and particularly enjoys multicultural environment.
